All lessons will be help at Fort Washinington Swim and Tennis Club. The schedule offers two options to choose between Scheudle A or B. To Register, scroll to the bottom and click on the Lil' Dragon Swim Lessons in the the red bar.
Swimmers will learn to swim Backstroke for 30 feet, and treading water for 1 minute. Jumping, Sitting Dives, Kneeling Dives, and Standing Dives are taught. Breathing for the Crawl stroke is taught, and swimmers will learn to swim using side breathing for a minimum of 4 breaths. Swimmers will learn the “Side Glide Kick” for 20 feet. The Crawl stroke is taught and swimmers swim for 20 feet. Swimmers learn the safety skill of Rollover–front to back, back to front and how to call for help while on their back. Somersaults both forward and back are learned, along with Finning, sculling, and Backwards bobs. Front kick streamlined, and Back kick streamlined for 15 feet. Swimmers learn Porpoising, Dolphin kick, and body balance, all of these skills are needed to be a proficient swimmer. Swimmers learn to Front Glide and recover and Back Glide and recover for 5 seconds. Back and Front floats are learned along with Streamline bobs. Swimmers learn how to blow bubbles, open their eyes, submerge their face, and basic air exchange. Registrants will be given a make-up date for the cancellation when that date is known. If there is a cancellation, due to facility closure or unavailability, registrants will be notified no later than 8am the day of lesson.
